Solar assisted heat pumps can be best described as a fridge in reverse. Most people understand that the panel on the back of their fridge is an important factor in keeping it’s content cold. Reversing this principle by using an aluminium evaporator (panel) to absorb heat rather than reject, allows us to use ambient air temperature day and night, all year and in any weather conditions, to heat your water to 55 degrees. Once the temperature has been reached, the unit will turn itself off and then when the temperature in the hot water cylinder drops by 5 degrees, the unit will switch itself back on and repeat this process back to 55 degrees.
